Saturn in Aquarius

Saturn is not in Aquarius again before 2036.

Saturn is where you're tested. Aquarius does things unusually, independently, for the future. While Saturn is in Aquarius, that part of everyone's life takes on an Aquarius style. Where you feel it depends on which of your houses Aquarius falls in, and that is different for everyone.

About Saturn

Saturn is structure, limits and the slow, steady work of growing up. It can feel strict, but it's the teacher whose praise you actually remember. Saturn's visit asks you to take that area of life seriously, sort out what's wobbly and build something that lasts. It's slow, but what you build now tends to stay built.

About Aquarius

Aquarius is originality, friendship and ideas that arrive a few years early. It cares about people in general and needs plenty of space in particular. At its best, Aquarius is the inventive friend who makes the strange feel possible. Watch for keeping feelings at arm's length and calling it being rational.

How long it lasts

About two and a half years in each sign.

Saturn in Aquarius, house by house

Find which of your houses Aquarius is in, then read that one. If Aquarius spans two of your houses, read both.

  1. If Aquarius is in your 1st house · SelfIdentity, body, how you come acrossBeing the odd one out is your thing, and Saturn asks for consistency. A distinct style you stand behind is more convincing than a new persona each time.
  2. If Aquarius is in your 2nd house · WorthMoney, values, securityPrinciples about money are admirable, and they need to balance. Ethical spending and unconventional income can work, so long as the spreadsheet agrees and the rent is covered.
  3. If Aquarius is in your 3rd house · VoiceCommunication, siblings, learning, neighbourhoodBig ideas want writing down. Turn the brilliant rant from the pub into a short piece, a clear proposal or a lesson someone else can actually follow.
  4. If Aquarius is in your 4th house · RootsHome, family, private lifeHome life is kept at arm's length, so Saturn nudges you closer. A family chat, a flat that feels like yours and a sofa you actually sit on matter more than a perfect theory.
  5. If Aquarius is in your 5th house · DesireRomance, creativity, pleasure, childrenRomance as an interesting experiment needs a result eventually. Show up properly for one date, turn up on time, and make the creative project real rather than conceptual.
  6. If Aquarius is in your 6th house · RitualWork, routines, health, habitsRoutine is resisted on principle, so Saturn bargains. Pick three habits that give you freedom, such as sleep, lunch and a walk, and defend them cheerfully.
  7. If Aquarius is in your 7th house · BondsRelationships, partners, marriageIndependence is precious; the question is how it fits with another person. Say plainly what you need from a partner and what you can offer, and you will both relax.
  8. If Aquarius is in your 8th house · ShadowIntimacy, transformation, shared moneyFeelings observed from a safe distance never quite warm up. Share the real worry about money or trust, and resist turning it into an interesting topic.
  9. If Aquarius is in your 9th house · DistanceTravel, beliefs, higher learningTheories about everything, and one of them wants testing. Study a subject to the end, or visit the place you keep discussing, and see what holds up.
  10. If Aquarius is in your 10th house · CallingCareer, public image, ambitionReinventing the industry sounds great, though Saturn asks for the credentials first. Pair the new idea with a reliable track record and you become impossible to ignore.
  11. If Aquarius is in your 11th house · CircleFriends, community, future goalsAt home in a crowd, you are asked for accountability within it. Take a real role, turn up to the meeting, and finish the thing the collective promised.
  12. If Aquarius is in your 12th house · DepthDreams, hidden patterns, solitudeFeelings are kept at a tidy distance until the 12th sends them round to visit. Time alone with a notebook lets the unexamined parts speak without a committee.
