What turning direct means

After two months or more of seeming to move backwards, Mars stops and starts moving forward again. Motivation returns, stalled projects pick up speed, and frustration has somewhere to go. It is a bit like the handbrake coming off.

It builds up gradually

Mars moves slowly for a couple of weeks after it turns, so your energy builds rather than arriving all at once. For a while afterwards it goes back over the part of the sky it crossed while retrograde, which is a good time to finish the plan you made rather than start a different one.
